Get Involved
This work happens because people show up for it. If you believe that everyone facing serious illness deserves better care and support, there is a place for you in this community.

Ways to get involved

Participate in the What Matters Most Campaign
Each year on National Healthcare Decisions Day we bring our community together around one question: what matters most to you, and who will speak for you if you cannot? There are many ways to participate, from attending our public press conference and community event to sponsoring or helping organize a workshop in your neighborhood.

Volunteer with Us
There are meaningful ways to contribute your time, skills, and experience to this work. You can help plan and support National Healthcare Decisions Day activities, assist with community outreach, or bring your expertise to collaborative efforts across the region.

Palliative medicine clinicians can also get involved as a HEAL Together Clinical Ambassador, pairing with a community-based organization to raise awareness of palliative care and advance care planning through education and relationship building.

Join Our Meetings
Our virtual meetings bring together community organizations, clinicians, health systems, funders, and other partners to share updates, learn from each other, and coordinate efforts across the region. We also gather in person once a year to build relationships and align on priorities.

These meetings are where the collaborative actually happens. New relationships form, ideas get tested, and the work moves forward. We welcome anyone who wants to be part of that.

The San Francisco chapter meets quarterly (Month 1, 2, 3, and 4), with an annual in person gathering. The Peninsula and South Bay chapter meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month from noon-1pm PST.
